Washington D.C. – A new federal bill introduced in Congress Tuesday aims to shut down the pipeline that sends purpose-bred dogs into research laboratories and give dogs already inside those facilities a chance at a very different future.
The Prohibiting Unethical Procedures on Pets in Science (PUPPS) Act, introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace, would make it a federal violation to breed, sell, transfer, or knowingly acquire a dog bred for research purposes.
But the bill goes further. If enacted, individuals or facilities possessing dogs bred for research would be prohibited from euthanizing those animals and would instead be required to offer them for adoption to individuals or animal rescue organizations.
This bill was just introduced today, so it has not passed either chamber, has not been signed into law, and there hasn’t been a committee vote or floor vote yet. The next thing to watch is its formal congressional bill record and committee referral.

ALL ANIMALS must be included. This should have been done ions ago. Hopefully they can all agree that this is extremely important and must be passed.
These Hitler greed based breeding corporations should be put out of business once and for all!! Not only should they release the animals to rescues but they should include $10,000 with each and every pup and kitty finally released to the rescues for costs associated with their living expenses and medical care and neutering, etc. These GREED BASED companies have made billions in profits off of these innocents’ suffering and deaths and NEVER GIVEN ANYTHING BACK. WE MUST CONTINUE TO STOP ALL GREED BASED ANIMAL TORTURE AND SUFFERING JUST BC THEY CAN AND BC THE VICTIMS REMAIN VOICELESS!! WE MUST BE THEIR VOICES AND SPEAK UP FOR THEM!!

This type of bill should include all animals! This practice has been going on for so long and no one seems to be able to shut down these places. How many animals have to lose their lives before people finally realize that this is a totally unethical and inhumane way to treat animals? Why can’t people understand that all animals feel pain and suffering as we do? Would we ever do this to a person?
The bill should include all animals – cats chimps – every animal.. Research facilities can use alternatives such as human cell- based testing and computer modeling, instead of caged dogs and other animals
Stop it now
This is good for dogs, but don’t you think cats ought to also be included in being protected this way? Because if the laboratories can’t obtain purpose-bred dogs to experiment on anymore, they’ll start using more purpose-bred cats than they currently do for experiments instead. Either that, or they will resort to obtaining dogs illegally by stealing pets out of their yards, and/or by bribing city/county officials to supply them with friendly, healthy, young dogs and puppies from the animal control shelters.
Passing this bill would improve the country and save so many dogs. No animal should be subjected to that. It’s rare in today’s environment when a legislator actually introduces legislation that isn’t complete garbage.
Thank you Nancy Mace. God and animal people know that you are loved.
SAME BILL FOR ALL ANIMALS!
THANK YOU NANCY MAE!
MORE LIKE YOU ARE NEEDED IN THIS WORLD!
We NEED this desperately. The animals NEED this desperately. Thank you to these politicians who bring forth these pieces of legislation to start protecting the animals. They have been suffering at the hands of humans for far too long.
It’s about damn time they stopped killing innocent animals. The bill should be for all animals.

Nancy Mace introduced this bill called The Pupps Act or Prohibiting Unethical Procedures On Pets In Science. On the same day another bill was introduced called the Compact Act. By Nick Langworthy and Mark Pocan. Both address lab animals. Beagle Freedom Project founder Shannon Keith spoke to congress about the Compact Act. And animals in labs in general. Neither will pass if u don’t let your reps know how u feel about this. So please give them a call and tell them. Both bills r bipartisan. U can go to BFP website and get info on the bills. LET’S PUT AN END TO ALL ANIMAL TESTING.
Thank you Representative Nancy Mace, you are a voice for those that can’t speak up for themselves, you are a breath of fresh air and your support will not to unnoticed by compassionatet people.
Thank you Representative Nancy Mace. We The People absolutely support this legislation!
