Homewood, Alabama – A 21-year-old Alabama man is facing felony animal cruelty charges for allegedly throwing five kittens from a moving vehicle traveling along I-65 near Lakeshore Drive. According to the Homewood Police Department, witnesses called 911 after seeing a man identified as Thomas Ronald Liccione, throwing kittens from his moving vehicle.
In a public release, the police said:
On May 30th, 2026, at approximately 1:00 PM, the Homewood Police Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a person throwing kittens from a moving vehicle driving on I-65 near Lakeshore Drive. Homewood Police Officers quickly responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle described by witnesses on Lakeshore Drive. Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the driver. Homewood officers spoke to multiple witnesses who reported seeing the driver of the vehicle in question throw five kittens out of the window while he was driving on I-65.
All of the kittens hurled from the window were struck by other vehicles and killed.
Liccione was arrested for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and transported to Jefferson County Jail with a $15,000 bond.
The police said, “The Homewood Police Department takes animal abuse and cruelty calls very seriously. We would like to sincerely thank the witnesses and motorists who contacted Homewood 911 and provided information to Homewood Police Officers on scene.”
As reported by AL.com, Liccione’s attorney calls his client, “a good kid with an excellent reputation,” and has stated that they look forward to his day in court.

UNBELIEVBLE. I echo what everyone else says – a “good kid” does NOT hurl 5 baby animals out a window on a superhiway. A good kid would have taken them to the animal shelter, or spayed/neutered his cat in the first place to prevent kittens. His “excellent reputation” is SHIT now and likely always was, as is his lawyers who must have gotten his degree from KLOWN KOLLIDGE. What kind of crap lawyer would even TAKE this case?
Just throw both him AND his lawyer off the nearest bridge.
