Wantagh, NY -A shelter dog in Wantagh, New York, has spent the majority of his life without a home. His name is Pinto, and he is the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter’s longest resident…a title that no dog wants to hold.
According to the shelter, Pinto was found as a stray in October 2017. At the time, he followed a homeowner into her home…he was then taken to the shelter and he has remained there ever since.
It is difficult to imagine the hopelessness that Pinto must feel after so many years without a home or family of his own.
In January, the shelter wrote:
Pinto’s ideal home is with a savvy owner who has experience with guarding. During his stay at the shelter, we have been working on loose leash walking and commands like “place”, “sit” and “down”. One of his favorite people here at the shelter has said some great things about him – He loves to play in the yard and play fetch, he walks great on leash and is scared of thunderstorms. This poor guy has been waiting so long for his home and we really wish his person would come in to find him soon.

Very sad heartbreaking to read this article about Pinto Thank yuo so much for letting Pinto live at this shelter for as long as he has Thank God he didn’t get Euthanized but something is wrong of so many people that works there they wasn’t a living soul that would give Pinto a Chance 💔so sad I wish I could give him a chance but I have a house full of cats also have a French bull dog that don’t lesson hoping and praying to Saint Gretudes to pray for Pinto to get a family that would give him a home 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💔💔💔💔😢😢😢😢😢
