San Bernardino, CA – A handsome German shepherd has been put on the euthanasia list at the San Bernardino City Animal Control agency for “being old.” The 10-year-old dog was picked up as a stray and taken to the animal control facility on June 27 – in the weeks that have passed, nobody has come forward to claim him as their own or offer to adopt him.
Staff has named this gorgeous senior dog Ace, and advocates are pleading for him to be saved. Days ago, a networker posted images of Ace, writing:
ON EUTHANASIA LIST FOR 7/29/23 FOR BEING OLD 🙁
Look at this friendly senior citizen! Isn’t he just gorgeous? He’s estimated to be about 10 years old, but appears in good condition!
Shelter notes indicate that Ace is friendly. Please help network Ace’s information. He does not deserve to be killed just because he is a senior dog. He may not have many years left, but the years he has, he definitely deserves to enjoy!

Someone take him i have 2 already. One is 12 years old. I only take dogs in that are several years old.
We took an 10 year old German shepherd that was dumped and she is the sweetest girl we could ask for. We have had her almost a year and we couldn’t think life without our Rosie. Someone give this guy a home and love as that’s all he wants
I would take this baby in a heartbeat I have no way to get him here in Tennessee where I live. I pray somebody gets this angel. Shepherds are one of the best dogs.

Shame a dog can’t enjoy its golden years. They just want a home and someone to love them. My Australian shepherd will be 14 on Christmas Day and I can’t imagine life without her!!
The person who sentenced this poor dog to death for supposedly being old needs to also be euthanized when they get {almost) old.
