Leiria, Portugal – A free-roaming, human food-eating dog named Bobi has set the Guinness World Record for being the oldest dog EVER. At 30 years of age, the Rafeiro do Alentejo shattered his breed’s life expectancy of 12 to 14 years.
Bobi’s owners believe that his longevity is due to him living in a “calm, peaceful environment” and eating human food, rather than dog food. According to a news release from Guinness, Bobi is a social pooch who spends his days hanging out in the yard with the family’s cats, or lounging by the fire.
Bobi’s considerable age has been verified by a veterinary medical service.
Bobi will turn 31 years of age in May – wow!! Read more about Bobi at this link.
