  1. If Luna has a microchip, then her owners would be able to be identified. My question is HAVE THEY BEEN CHARGED WITH ANIMAL ABUSE/NEGLECT and FAILURE TO SUPPLY VETERINARY CARE???? If not, why not??

  2. This beautiful girl deserves to be loved in a forever home. The shelter should NOT be giving her a death sentence. It doesn’t look like they have done much to ease her discomfort and get her noticed. Shelters are supposed to be safe havens, not slaughterhouses.

  3. In Texas, San Antonio Animal Services euthanize beautiful, healthy, adoptable dogs and puppies every single day. They blame it on overcrowding. It’s beyond heartbreaking! They only give them 5 days and they don’t even get a chance to be seen and adopted.

    • Sick Sadistic Vetenarians that could harm these beautiful creatures. At least in many other Countries they live on the streets and people feed them and provide some element of housing and love such as Turkey.

  4. It’s sad there isn’t someone with more heart at Miami-Dade Animal Services to at least clean this poor pup and try to make her feel more comfortable. I don’t care how understaffed, overcrowded and overwhelmed they might be. This makes a statement about the living things on two legs in that facility. Show some compassion.

  5. All shelters should be no kill shelters and if they can’t get an animal adopted after awhile send them on a trip to other shelters in the hope of getting them adopted

    • No, the mass of so-called ‘shelters’ in the US cannot be no kill! Want to know why? Because the American people…who profess to just “love dogs” arent savy/smart enough to vote for and demand changes from the right legislators they vote for. Every hour of every day, 24/7, the are nearly 1000 healthy and adoptable animals that are slaughtered….for space at our Animal Controls and Humane Societies in every state nationwide. We have Amish and other puppy mills that are allowed to churn out over 5000 puppies every single week. People are allowed to breed their backyard dogs even. This isnt the reality in Germany; they have tight controls on breeding and have taken the money incentive out of the equation AND puppymills are not allowed there. No matter what you have heard, there are not enough homes for the dogs we have in this country and the situation is like every other situation here….it just keeps getting worse. Who am I?! I am a LIFELONG RESCUER who has spent a virtual lifetime and incredible amounts of money trying to change things….TO NO AVAIL.

  6. Groom her to improve her odds of being fostered or adopted. Being filthy and matted hair is not helping her find a home. Hopefully a rescue can grab her before it is too late and get her eye taken care of.

    • i 1000%agree with what you said Because it’s true people need to get off their asses and do something besides just say how sad they are about it make a change put the people that you vote for in a position of being accountable make them have an animal platform that’s positive for the animals not for abusers

  8. The animal shelter is just as guilty as the owners to allow this dog to continue to suffer. They need new management and employees as far as I am concerned. I rescue cats and get the ferals fixed and allow them to live their life and if I get the kittens I keep them till they are ready to be adopted out. Humans have created this disaster and they are the ones that have to fix it. The USA needs to stop all dog breeding and puppy mills till and if we can get this under control.

  10. Puppy mills need to be identified and put out of business permanently. The same applies to “back yard” breeders. These people, across the board, are only in it for the money. Next, identify and eliminate ALL dog fighting organizations and the perpetrators put in jail for at least 10 years if not closer to 15 years. Huge money fines should also be imposed on these creeps. This would all be a good start. It won’t eradicate the problem altogether, but a good start.
