Florida Man Wanted After Discovery Of 53 Neglected Dogs

Tampa, FL – A Florida man is wanted by the police on 40 counts of animal cruelty pertaining to the discovery of dozens of badly neglected dogs living in deplorable conditions last month. According to sources, animal services officers found 53 dogs at Matthew Wayne Keel’s residence located on the 5700 block of NW 6th Street.

Animal services found dead dogs in a freezer at the residence, another deceased dog that was not frozen, and multiple dogs in need of veterinary care. Keel is facing 23 counts of aggravated animal cruelty, in addition to 19 counts of animal cruelty.

  1. Maybe the man was raised in an environment where he thinks this is normal. I am guessing that he was raised by mentally ill family members, and he is also mentally ill. No other way to explain his gross maladaptive behaviors towards other living beings.
    Very saddening to have animals victimized by cruel people.
    Man is in need of intensive rehabilitation in a locked facility.
