Jones, Oklahoma – An Oklahoma farmer was killed on the evening of July 11 by two water buffaloes he had recently purchased at an auction. According to the Jones Police Department, officers responded to an emergency call at a farm on Henney Road and encountered aggressive water buffalo who did not allow them to access the victim.
According to a news release from the police, one of the animals was immediately put down in order to allow officers to reach the victim. First responders found the victim, identified as Bradley McMichael, with deep lacerations that proved to be fatal.
The second water buffalo was put down after becoming increasingly agitated and posing a threat to the responders.
The authorities said that McMichael had purchased both animals at a livestock auction the day before his death. It is surmised that he became trapped in their enclosure before being attacked.
Jennifer Green, McMichael’s girlfriend tells KFOR News, “He was at the auction Thursday night and he loved to be there, he was in good spirits. The best mood I’ve seen him in a while.” Cattle farming was McMichael’s passion, Green said, “He loved his livestock and as tragic as this, as he died doing something that he loved.”

Completely understandable with the way these animals are treated, sold, moved around, etc. that eventually they decide they’ve had enough and show it.
Correct. Most peopIe give no thought to our brutaI treatment of these animaIs, but when it comes back around to bite us on our butts, just a tiny taste of what we send their way, suddenIy it’s a tragedy.
I didn’t think we’re allowed to have species not native to our country?
oh please. most of us are not native to this country
LOL. Everyone I know is native.
Once again animals murdered because of stupid human greed. Water Bufalo shoulkdn’t be in the US they are not native animal. Stop transporting animals around the worl then blaming them for hiuman actions!!!
Absolutely right! Humans blame the animals – it’s the humans who are at fault!
