Update: Gracey has been adopted!
Gardena, CA – An elderly golden retriever named Gracey finds herself homeless in the twilight of her life. According to the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page, the 13-year-old dog wound up at the animal control facility after the death of her owner.

Gracey must be terribly frightened and confused right now. Animal shelters are loud and stressful, and definitely no place for an elderly dog.

Poor dear Gracey. I’m relieved to see the update that she’s been adopted. Here’s hoping her adopters really, really deserve a dog and will keep her safe and loved always.
