Dogs Missing, Dead, After Devastating Dog Daycare Fire

Seattle, WA – On Monday night, a fire broke out at The Dog Resort in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood. And amazingly it is not the first time fire has impacted the business. Earlier this year, the same business, operating out of a different location in the Seattle area, caught fire.

No people were hurt in the blaze, but some dogs at the daycare business escaped – one was killed on I-5 and two more are still on the run. Allison Scarborough’s dogs, Georgie and Remi were at the dog daycare when the fire broke out. Both escaped and Georgie was later found deceased on Interstate 5.

Her other dog, Remi, is still on the run and area residents have been on the lookout for the frightened pup.

According to Remi’s owner, the dog was spotted on Monday.

Ben Lowy, who has boarded dogs at the facility, expressed frustration to KIRO News:

“It’s pretty frustrating, especially considering that this is not the first time this has happened for this company.”

Adding:

“I can’t imagine sending him back to a place where, sounds like the first fire was due to a lint build-up in a dryer, but I feel like two strikes is probably two, too many.”

Another dog named North is still missing from the facility.

The Seattle Fire Department has not determined the cause of the fire yet.
