Puyallup, Washington – A dog involved in an unprovoked attack on a 12-year-old child in Puyallup, Washington, will be euthanized at the request of his owner. According to King 5 News, neighbors had expressed concern about the dog in the past…not just because of the dog’s behavior, rather because of how the dog was kept at the property.
The dog in question had been seen lunging at people who walked by the property and while doing so, he was chained to the bumper of a van parked in the driveway. Neighbor Ben Swick tells the news agency, “The dog has shown aggression, but because he’s chained to that van, and he’s lunging at everybody that walks by.”
Last Thursday, the child was injured when the dog lunged and knocked him off a bicycle. Good Samaritans were able to prevent serious injury, but the child likely needed stitches after the attack.

The dog’s owner did not have to put their pet down, but opted to do so rather than comply with potential “dangerous dog” restrictions. The owner may still face criminal charges and is also responsible for any medical expenses the child incurred.

The owner must be barred from any dog ownership.
Incredible that so many people see what’s really wrong here, the human. Always some disgusting waste of skin is torturing an animal and the animal gets put down. Why aren’t we euthanizing the individual responsible? That bucket of pus will just go get another innocent animal to tie up and abuse until that poor thing gets so lonely and heartbroken he goes after someone again for attention.
I completely agree with you. Why didn’t someone report the deadbeat for animal abuse????
The dog was being kept under inhumane conditions. No wonder he lunged. Plus he didn’t hurt the kid. He just knocked her off of her bicycle. How unfair. The poor dog didn’t stand a chance. I hope this is recorded someplace so this monster can’t adopt another animal.
SO TRUE!!!!
IT’S A KNOWN THAT THE ANIMAL BECOMES LIKE THEIR OWNER OVER TIME IF THEY ARE TREATED CRUELLY, AND NOT SHOWN ANY CARE OR LOVE!!!
IN THIS CASE THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED!!!
POOR DOG……NO LIFE AT ALL.
well said,!
well said,!
Well thank another piece of human shit for an innocent animal put to death. Rather see that owner die than the dog.
As usual, the dog pays the price for the way his/her shitty owner trained/kept it. This so-called owner should never be able to have another dog.
I actually watched the footage of this incident yesterday where someone had posted it on X (formerly Twitter). In my opinion, the dog appeared to be acting playfully, not aggressively. I saw the dog running and jumping, and it looked like he accidentally knocked the bicycle over when he ran into it. After the child was on the ground, it looked like the child was scared and trying to run away from the dog (like a prey animal would) which certainly did not help matters. But even so, the dog to me looked like he was not trying to harm the child. The dog may have nipped at the child’s clothes a few times, but it looked playful, not aggressive. It resembled how a dog would play with another dog. The dog’s facial expressions and body language looked playful, not aggressive. The fact that this dog is being unalived because his owner does not want to deal with it and does not want to give him a better life than being chained to a parked vehicle is an absolute travesty of justice! There should be a third option: for the owner to relinquish the dog to a rescue that would give him the socialization and training he needs and then find him a great home with a big, fenced yard he could run around to his heart’s content and people who would treat him like a family member.
Absolutely. It’s easier for the owner to MURDER HIM than do what’s right for him. Humans like this make me ashamed to be a human. He doesn’t know how to play chained to the bumper of a car. All he needs is training. But then, it’s easier to MURDER HIM.
Another case of a dog being killed because of an irresponsible owner. The owner should pay in his dogs’ place and the dog should go to a humane rescue to be trained and rehabilitated.

This piece of scum owner should give up the pup so someone would treat him better than being tied to a bumper!!! The guy should be euthanized, and the kids parents and neighbors should be trying to help this poor dog before his owner kills him!!!!! Kill the guy not the pup poor thing

Do not kill this poor defenseless dog. The owner is to blame and not this poor neglected, abused dog.
don’t exaggerate. Let the dog live. he did nothing wrong. he was abused & neglected. Find him a loving forever home. The owner should be charged with cruelty
Simple, Eurhanize the Owner!! 👍👍👍👏👏👏😁😁😁. End of Story!! POS Owner! Hope “IT” has no kids!! 😏
Really wish we could. World would be a much better place.
Like your way of thinking!
Let the dog live. Put the owner down.
So because of this STUPID ABUSIVE dog owner, a young woman gets attacked by his dog, traumatized by his dog attacking her, and the now the dog gets executed and loses it’s life???!!! The owner of this dog should be held accountable and NEVER allowed to have any animals!!! He should be paying for the young woman’s medical bills, and anything associated with this traumatic experience!!
they said a 12 year old child is a victim of attack. Young woman?
Nonhuman animals always pay the ultimate price for human imbecility. If I had to live chained to a bumper, I would lunge too. Two related issues: Why was that cretin allowed to keep his Dog chained and lunging at pedestrians without the law intervening? Why wasn’t the poor Dog rescued and the owner fined for cruelty to animals? I have the answer: (1) The shelters are full to capacity, the “no kill” model disseminated by Fiends of Animals Animal Society (Kanab, UT) is a farce by which only adoptable animals are sheltered (“managed intake”) and the are rest left up to “community care” or “transportation” (ha!), (2) adopters are not vetted for prior mishandling of pets, financial ability to keep pets, adequate facilities, nada!, and (3) not enough emphasis on mandatory spay and neuter. The crises of full shelters — which was almost resolved between 1990-2000 — is manufactured because “drama” brings in donations; good management does not. And so, as usual, the victims are nonhuman living beings executed (shelter euthanasia is not an easy death) at the whim of those why truly deserve to be executed!
This is sad. That dog should not have to be put down. This owner is heartless. He should take responsibility and provide training for the dog or at least confine him to his own yard! We have a neighbor that has a dog that everyone is afraid of, but they have installed an electric fence so the dog is free to run, but only in his own yard. He is not able to leave the yard. Hopefully, that owner will not be allowed to have another dog because he didn’t take care of this one!
I tend to agree, except for the “training.” It’s unfortunate that in todays worId, most “trainers ” stiII engage in brutality. NEVER Ieave your dog aIone with any so-caIIed “trainers.”‘
I had severaI dogs at any given time during my decades of rescue. When young, they have a need for activity (best if they are taken out to open spaces where they can engage in the types of activities that dogs enjoy. Mine aII Ioved expIoring the Iandscape, and a coupIe of them were swimming enthusiasts. They were aII gentIe and meIIow, because they were happy. And severaI of them were on the “Iist” of “dangerous dogs.”
I agree with everyone. the dog is the one who always pays the price. we need new laws.
The poor dog was neglected and abused – the owner is responsible and should be charged and never permitted to have any other animals.
This is absolutely bull crap. That owner needs to be accountable for any type of action. Its not the dogs fault that it acted in that type of matter. That idiot should have never had the dog on a chain on the bumper of that van in the 1st place. This really irritates the hell out of me how irresponsible the owner is. That owner better be fined and never be able to ever own another animal again..
I agree
