Frederick County, Virginia – Police have arrested and charged a North Virginia man who admitted to stabbing his dog. As reported by Fox 5 News, 34-year-old Erfan Behnam, of Reston, was covered in blood and dog hair when the authorities encountered him last Thursday around 2 a.m. in the 7900 block of Hollow Road.
Responding deputies found a deceased, bloodied dog with 14 stab wounds in a grassy area not far from Behnam’s car. The man told deputies that the dog had “jumped” from his car and he needed to “put the dog down.” Behnam was inconsistent with his stories about what had happened and why he believed the dog needed to be “put down.”
The dog’s body was taken by animal control. Behnam is facing a felony animal cruelty charge.
