Dog Enters ‘Fospice’ Home After Being Abandoned

Are you familiar with the term “fospice?” It is a word coined for rescue animals who are too sick or old to be adopted, so they go to a hospice foster home instead. A dog named Ruth is currently enjoying the last moments of her life in the company of a forever foster family in Texas. The rescue group, Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform, shared her story, writing:

She was found in Frisco Texas, she was likely dumped on the streets. Likely she was too old to breed any longer and was abandoned because of it. She has a big tumor on her heart but is forgiving and loving and grateful to have a chance at security.

The rescue group explains how “fospice” works:

The rescue covers all the medical bills and the fospice homes understand that they will have the pup until medically they can’t make it any longer. Fospice fosters are special people and fospice dogs are very expenses due to their medical needs.

Thanks to the rescue group, and the loving person who opened their home to an ailing dog, Ruthie will not have to spend her last days in a shelter.
