Child Dies Trying To Save Her Puppy From Devastating House Fire

Spalding County, GA – A child died while trying to save her puppy from a devastating house fire in Spalding County. According to the New York Post, 11-year-old Katelynn Simond ran upstairs to save her pup, Little Man, when the fire tore through their home on Saturday night.

But Katelynn’s efforts did not save them from the deadly blaze. Her uncle, Charles Beecher, tells Fox Atlanta,

“She was worried about her dog upstairs, and she ran upstairs. Katelynn, she’s like us, an animal lover. She went upstairs and got that puppy. His name was ‘Little man.’”

By the time firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation; foul play is not suspected. Find the GoFundMe for the family at this link.

  1. God bless this little girl for not wanting to leave her puppy behind. They gave their lives together and I know they’re in Heaven being held together in arms of love.🙏🏻❤️
