Live Oak, FL – Sweet Pea, the 10-week-old puppy brutally beaten on March 31 by 45-year-old Eric Ivan Roldan, continues to defy the odds stacked against her. The tiny pup suffered a severely fractured skull when Roldan kicked and stomped her, nearly to death.
Roldan’s brutal attack nearly claimed Sweet Pea’s life, but she has miraculously stayed alive, in spite of her extreme injuries. Sweet Pea was taken under the wing of the Livin’ Like Larry Sanctuary, and she has been receiving veterinary care from Oviedo Veterinary Hospital. On On 4/11/25, the organization let social media followers know that Sweet Pea underwent surgery to repair her fractured skull.
Sweet Pea not only made it through the difficult surgery, but she is showing her amazing, spunky personality during recovery. On Monday, the organization said:

She’s in the soft sided pack n play so that she won’t bonk her noggin on anything hard.

It’s garbage like this that makes me certain we share the planet with monsters! Animal abusers are monsters. Their right to life should be taken away. In the same way they abuse their innocent victims.
The murderer deserves to never walk or eat or live. Unfortunately he is living but needs to be in solitary confinement for the rest of his life so he will never hurt or destroy anything living!!! GEEZUS poor thing……….I hope she won’t have permanent brain damage. Sometimes when things are that severe I vouch for euthanizing the poor angel, but if she truly has a chance at a normal life then I am grateful for the rescue to care for her.
