Boy Charged After Video Shows Him Repeatedly Punching Dog in Face

Hamilton County, Tennessee – A social media video showing a boy repeatedly punching a dog in the face resulted in the juvenile’s arrest. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified about the video on the evening of September 18, and the boy was taken into custody the same night.

The youth, unnamed, was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and faces a charge of cruelty to animals. The dog remains with an adult family member at the home. Animal services is following up to determine the dog’s condition.

Sheriff Austin Garrett commented on the case, stating:

“We want to thank the public for bringing this disgusting video of a male juvenile brutally abusing a dog to our attention. Our deputies acted swiftly to this abuse, investigating and taking the suspect into custody. Animal cruelty has no place in Hamilton County. If you cannot treat animals with compassion, you do not deserve to have them.”
