Van Nuys, CA – A beautiful German shepherd named Tasha finds herself in need of a new home after being surrendered to a busy California animal shelter by her family this week. The elderly dog is waiting to be saved at the Los Angeles Animal Services – East Valley Shelter.
At 15 years of age, Tasha has already exceeded her expected life span. But she will not be celebrated in the twilight of her life by the people she knew…instead, she will spend her time looking out of a kennel run, searching for a familiar face.
The face she is hoping to see will not magically appear. Only strangers will pass by her kennel; given her advanced age, those people will probably keep walking as they search for a younger dog to be their new companion.
Tasha’s final chapter has yet to be written. Will it end tragically? Or will there be a last-minute hero that swoops in to save the day? Nobody knows.

In their old age is when dogs are at their most precious, aged to perfection, even if they may become incontinent or have other “messy” problems. Only trash will dump a dog in his/her old age; it’s heartbreaking knowing Tasha lived with such people. She was probably never a part of the family…likely kept like a potted plant out in the yard. I so very much hope that she gets to be part of a loving family or someone’s partner for her remaining time on Earth.
Here we go again. Over and over and over. Trash humans abandoning their old dogs in shelters to be killed because they don’t want to deal with them anymore. I hope they are abandoned by their family when they get old. Stuck in a nursing home to die alone.
Imagine being so heartless. My life treat them the way they treated her.
I wish there was a law for people like this that will blacklist them to never own an animal again.
Some more sick humans who dump a family member because it’s too old! That just makes me sick. The poor dog doesn’t know why he was abandoned. He didn’t deserve that ugly fate. I hope someone will have a kind heart and give him a loving home!!

These are just pathetic mindless sick cruel scum people who do things like this and I do hope their families will put them in a mental institution padded cell with no food and water and watch them die. I can only hope that justice is served for this furbaby and the people that have abandoned her are abandoned in their old age. We call it karma but God calls it His revenge. You cannot do this to innocent creatures that are supposed to be a family member by dumping them and not get a payback. They WILL get their payback and it cannot come soon enough.
