Campbell County, VA – A gentle shelter dog named Sienna showed off her incredible intuition when she detected a man’s pending seizure at an adoption event earlier this month. Friends of Campbell County Animal Control shared Sienna’s amazing instincts at the event, explaining what happened:
We have all been impressed with Sienna because of her gentle nature, her willingness to accept every other dog she has met, her careful introductions to small children, and Saturday we got to see yet another amazing attribute: her premonition that a complete stranger was about to experience a medical crisis. She had not met him until today when she was at our event. She walked up to him, sat beside him, and gently put her paw on his foot.
Adding:
We learned that Sienna’s new friend has a history of seizures, and Sienna somehow knew a seizure was imminent—and was able to alert him to that.
The organization ended the social media post with a plea to help find this incredible dog a forever home:
She has the innate ability to alert to a stranger’s medical needs—with no special training and just her love for humans as her motivation. Please help us find her the home she deserves!
Fast forward to June 13, when a special announcement was made to Sienna’s fans:
We are pleased to share the exciting news that Sienna was adopted today! She has joined a family that has a strong commitment to adopting from a shelter. Sienna has two human brothers, and has chosen her special human already. She immediately loved the family! She made sure to give the volunteers and Animal Control officers each a hug and kiss before leaving! We always delight in happy endings! We will miss you dearly! We know you will flourish. We love you! Happy Tails Sienna!
