A Dog’s Broken Heart After Her Owner Surrendered Her To Shelter

Long Beach, CA – They say a picture is worth 1000 words and that is certainly the case for a dog named Pink whose despair is painfully clear in her lonesome kennel run at the Long Beach Animal Care Services.

Pink was surrendered to the busy animal shelter on February 16 and her heartbreak is clear.

Head down…drooling, collapsed on the floor in fear and despair – Pink’s pitiful situation is not unique. Most dogs feel the same way when they lose their home and their family – the loss is overwhelming.

The impact our throw away society has on unwanted pets is immense. The pet surrendered because of a move, “allergies,” or no time often does not make it out of the shelter alive.

It is clear that Pink is struggling. Please help her find a home by sharing her adoption information.

  2. what a shame. i love when people say to me it’s just a dog. i want to smack them in the mouth. and your just an asshole. you look at a picture like this and your heart just breaks. this dog who i am sure did nothing wrong suffers like many at the hands of a clueless human. they treat these animals like they feel nothing, when in fact they feel everything. just look at pink, her expression says it all. i hope she finds someone to love her for life.

  3. Can someone who lives over there please adopt this beautiful dog how sad to see them locked up in a cage day in and day out with no one to love them. Dogs are a man’s best friend and give unconditional love unlike most people please have compassion and someone please adopt this precious dog. 🙏🏻💔🐾

  5. They didn’t dump Pink on the streets to be picked up by dogfighters or other scumbags, so at least there’s that. Long Beach is supposed to be one of the better “shelters,” but they still are primarily a business run by an extremely wealthy few. That creates a lot of comfort, with no urgent need to really make changes to the overpopulation situation. I hope and pray for Pink to get her real person or family at last and have the wonderful secure life all dogs deserve. To hell with all dog breeders.

  6. Poor, sweet baby. Yes, we do live in a throw away society and it’s disgusting. A pet is a life long commitment. If you aren’t able to make that commitment, then DON’T get a dog or any other pet!!
