Monroe, Louisiana – Eight kittens have a new lease on life after being abandoned in a crate left on a dumped trailer left on someone’s property. According to River Cities Humane Society for Cats, the property owner looked under the tarp and found the kittens looking out from the crate they were held in.
The animal welfare agency took the opportunity to use the incident as a public reminder about the importance of spaying and neutering, writing, “This is a prime example of how important spaying and neutering is. It’s one of the best ways we can prevent more kittens from ending up in situations like this. Low-cost options and assistance programs are available locally for those who need help.”
Though many people have inquired about adopting the kittens, the agency has stated that they will not be available for adoption for at least two months.
