Greenville, South Carolina – An urgent plea has been made on behalf of a special senior dog named Ada. Eight-year-old Ada has been at the Greenville Humane Society for two months and nobody has made arrangements to save her.
This pretty girl is described as “the soul of a puppy living in the body of an old girl.” She is blind, and a senior, but she still maintains a zest for life. A social media post made on Ada’s behalf explains the odd-looking apparatus around her head:
Is it a satellite? Is it a basketball hoop? Nope, just Ada. Ada and her built-in navigation system.
Okay, okay – it’s actually her “halo,” a special mobility aid that helps her get around safely despite being blind. And yes, she may bonk into a wall here and there, but she handles it like a champ, and NEVER lets a few bumps into chair legs dampen her fun. It’s become an important part of her, and wherever Ada goes, whether it’s on a quick adventure, or her forever home.
And an explanation of Ada’s endearing personality:
And don’t let the “senior” label fool you – this girl still has plenty of spark left in her. She’ll happily get a little rowdy with a squeaky toy, and she loves a good walk where she can sniff as she goes. She’s that perfect balance: playful when the moment calls for it, but deeply appreciative of a cozy, calm life.

And what is needed to save her from living the twilight of her life in a shelter facility:
Ada doesn’t need perfection. She doesn’t need a big house or a fancy yard. She just needs someone who can see her for all she is.
A soft place to land. A forever home.
Please share Ada’s adoption information and help make her dream of living in a home a reality.
