Mahoning County, Ohio – A senior dog has finally been adopted after spending the majority of his life at the Animal Charity of Ohio shelter. The nine-year-old dog, Onyx, was taken in at the shelter back in 2018 when he was two years old.
Onyx endeared himself with the shelter staff and volunteers, but the perfect adopter was not found until this December. Onyx’s new family learned about the long-time shelter resident after seeing him on social media.
As it turned out, they were a perfect match, and it was love at first sight.
Though the people who know and love Onyx will miss him, they know that his life will only improve as he gets to enjoy the comforts of a real home, with a family of his own.
There were tears and cheers when Onyx made his way over a red carpet and out of the shelter facility – leaving his home of the past seven years to embark on his grand new adventure as a treasured companion.
Enjoy your new life Onyx! And kudos to the people who have opened their heart to you, giving you the chance you deserve.
