Rio Rancho, New Mexico – A woman’s dog was seriously injured after a stranger opened fire at him on a rural trail outside of Rio Rancho. As reported by KOB News, Nicole Tatum was walking her dogs on their normal route when a red Jeep, with no doors, approached and opened fire, hitting her dog, Ringo, five times.
One of the bullets hit an artery – suffice it to say, Ringo is lucky to be alive. The veterinarian who treated Tatum’s rescue dog says the bullets appear to be homemade and she was unable to find any metal.

Tatum, and other members of the community, want the shooter found and held accountable. Anyone with information about this case is asked to reach out to the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number at (505) 898-7585.
A fundraiser has been set up for Ringo’s veterinary expenses – read more here.
