Milford, Maine – A 40-year-old woman from Havertown was arrested and is facing charges after her toddler and senior dog were found dead in a car in the parking lot of the Freshie’s gas station in Milford. According to sources, Kelly Brown’s three-year-old daughter, Fiona, and 13-year-old dog, Penelope, were found dead in a parked vehicle on Saturday night.
As reported by NBC Philadelphia, police located and arrested Brown Sunday morning in an area not far from where her car, and deceased child and pet, were found. It is believed that the child and dog were left in the car for approximately 15 hours.
Brown claims she left her pet and child in the car while she was collecting trash, and that she fell in the Penobscot River and was swept away. However the police looked at surveillance footage and her story did align with what the video showed. Brown’s family reported that she had been acting strange lately and had stopped taking medication for anxiety.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Penobscot County Jail on a charge of manslaughter with bail set at $50,000.
