26 Horses Killed In Devastating Barn Fire

A devastating barn fire at a family-owned riding facility claimed the lives of 26 horses on Sunday.

Forsyth County, GA – Over the weekend, a devastating barn fire claimed the lives of 26 horses at a Forsyth County farm. The tragedy unfolded early Sunday morning; the first 911 call about smoke in the area came in around 6 a.m.

According to the Forsyth County Fire Department, the blaze at Blue Springs Farm was well underway when firefighters arrived, and it was too late to save the horses in the burning barn.

According to the Blue Springs Farm website, it is a family-owned and operated business that has been running since 2002. The site indicates that the barn houses 32 stalls.

On Facebook, the Farm said, “As you can imagine, we’re completely devastated and appreciate all of the prayer and support during this time.” Rebecca Alexander added, “These horses can never be replaced and will never be forgotten.”

A fundraiser has been created to help Blue Springs Farm; find it here.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
