Raleigh, NC – More than 100 dogs and puppies are destined for a new and improved life after being rescued from a neglectful puppy mill situation in Wake County, North Carolina. According to the SPCA of Wake County, a total of 101 canines were removed from a home on June 5.
The non-profit agency describes the horrible conditions the dogs and puppies were living in:
They were housed in egregious conditions, surrounded by their own waste, packed 5 or 6 to a cage and stacked floor to ceiling, or free roaming in cramped quarters and filth.
The rescued dogs immediately received veterinary care and much needed grooming to remove matted and filthy fur. The animal welfare agency said, “We’re seeing a lot of smiles from these guys—This is the biggest moment in these dogs’ lives, and we are feeling so grateful to be a part of their healing.”
On June 10, the shelter announced the adoption of the first puppy mill rescue survivor:
PUPPY MILL UPDATE: 2 pounds. We removed 2 pounds of fur, thick with painful mats, so filthy that the smell stung your eyes. It took 5 or 6 dog shampoos to find one that would get rid of the odor. With his mats finally removed, Jamie weighs only 5 lbs. Now, his little tail wags speak for themselves. And the best part…
Jamie is officially the first of our puppy mill dogs to be adopted❤️His new mom promises to spoil, love, and groom him the way he has always deserved.

They are 100% adorable and so terribly innocent, and think of all they’ve been through. My God, when do the evil and insanity end?
I am so sick of listening to people prattle on about how backyard breeders are few and far between. They’re all an abomination. I see people posting in support groups all the time about how their breeders wouldn’t refund them when their dog was diagnosed with a genetic disease. One of the many reasons sick dogs get dumped at shelters. Until they aren’t murdering animals for convenience breeders should be banned.
And breeders should never be allowed to start up again. Dogs are far too good for this insane, evil species calling itself “human,” and they’re far too good for this world in general. There would be enough dogs for all who seriously love them if there was not ONE breeder in this world.
