Bellingham, Washington – Ashley Georgia, the founder and owner of Pittie Project PNW, pleaded not guilty to 30 counts of animal cruelty stemming from horrible conditions found earlier this month on her property in Whatcom County.
The dismal condition of the dogs found at the property in the 200 block of Russet Avenue led to Georgia facing 30 Class C felonies for causing substantial pain or physical injury to animals and/or criminally negligently starving, dehydrating, suffocating or exposing animals to extreme conditions.

On October 23, the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of the 38-year-old woman. In a public release, the agency said, “The investigation established probable cause to arrest Ashley Georgia on 30 counts of Animal Cruelty in the First Degree. The Whatcom County Superior Court subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Georgia. On Friday, October 23, Georgia was arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail.”
At the preliminary hearing this week, the court set bail at $200,000 without a cash alternative based on the seriousness of the crime, including the fact that she had charges for assault and malicious mischief pending in district court from a Sept. 30 incident.
