Queens, New York – Two dogs who survived being dragged behind a moving car in early January have recuperated from their ordeal and they are now available for adoption. The dogs, Marley and Miss Noogie, have spent months with the ASPCA in Pawling, and after their harrowing ordeal, they are ready to embark on the next stage of their life, in the company of loving owners.
The Cruelty Incident
On the night of Sunday, January 4, horrified onlookers took matters into their own hands to stop a man who was driving a car in Long Island City with two struggling dogs tethered to the back of a red Volkswagen traveling near the intersection of 11th Street and 43rd Avenue.
Police identified 68-year-old Dan Bujor as the driver of the car. The Queens District Attorney issued a statement about the disturbing incident, confirming that an arrest was made and the dogs were seized for medical treatment.
The suspect told investigators that he tethered the dogs to the trunk of the car because, in his words, he “did not want them pooping inside the car.”
The Dogs
Marley, a German shepherd is described as loving, goofy and a bit shy. Her ASPCA bio reads:

Bring out a squeaky toy and she’s happy to make time for a little fun, too! Miss Noogie also has an adorable morning routine: rolling onto her back for a good scratch. Add some attention and a tasty treat, and you’ve found the way to her big heart.
