Los Angeles County, California – The owner of a California animal rescue is vowing to fight for the cats and dogs seized by officials last Friday. Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control seized 66 cats and 250 dogs from property in the 46000 block of 266th Street West in Lake Hughes where Christine De Anda, operated the Rock N Paws animal rescue.

Officials responded to the property after neighbors complained about noise and odors. Initial reports indicated upwards of 700 cats and dogs were at the property, but that number was drastically reduced after the raid was complete.
De Anda denies wrongdoing and plans to fight to regain custody of the rescue animals. She tells KTLA News:
“I was here documenting all the dogs as they were pulling them off so that I could have proof for the judge. The animals were cleaned every day, the animals were rotated out into yards every single day, every single dog is happy. They were healthy. They were cared for.”

The massive intake of animals is putting a strain on area animal shelters. Individuals interested in donating or fostering are asked to reach out to animal care and control to learn more. Find the agency on Facebook at this link.
