Brookhaven, Georgia – A Georgia woman was arrested and booked into jail after animal abuse was captured on her livestream Twitch account. According to a news release from the Brookhaven Police Department, 19-year-old Aspen Easterling was arrested on the night of January 30 following numerous tips coming in from people who viewed the disturbing video of a puppy being abused.
After obtaining a search warrant, police found a three-month-old Maltipoo in Easterling’s home at 1105 Town Boulevard in Brookhaven. According to the release, the puppy was taken into protective custody at the DeKalb County Animal Control facility and Easterling was taken to the Dekalb County Jail.
PETA posted the Twitch video on X, urging the situation to be investigated immediately. In the video, Easterling, who goes by Aspen Kartier, appears to get mad that her puppy got out of a cage. What follows are wails of terror from the pup and what sounds like Easterling beating him. Towards the end of the video, Easterling walks to another room, holding the puppy by his back.

The police are still investigating this situation. On January 31, the authorities said:
Brookhaven Police responded immediately, conducted an investigation, and made an arrest. The dog involved is safe and is now in the care of DeKalb County Animal Control. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Brookhaven Police at 404-637-0600.
