Navajo County, Arizona – A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for fatally shooting nine horses in the Black Mesa Ranger District. According to a release from the USDA Forest Service, all of the deceased horses showed evidence of bullet wounds, indicating they had been shot.
Necropsies were performed on the deceased horses and then they were buried.
Officials are hopeful that a member of the public will come forward with information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information on this is asked to call the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office tipline at 928-524-9908.
