Erie, Pennsylvania – Information is needed about whoever is responsible for abandoning a crated puppy under a bridge in freezing weather. According to the ANNA Shelter in Erie, the City of Erie Police called the Director, Ruth, on Monday night to report that a possibly frozen and deceased dog had been found.
The organization said, “Within minutes of receiving that call, #TEAMANNA staff members, Anna, Desiree and Brittney, were also calling Ruth to report the dog had arrived and was ALIVE but nonresponsive. Giving quick immediate triage directions, Ruth was on her way to the shelter on the phone with Dr. Lyon making a plan for this special girl. Cruelty Team Members, Steve and Briley, both came in to assist with her care.”
The abandoned pup’s internal temperature registered 94 degrees, and her heart rate was only 46 bpm. According to the facility, she “reeked of urine” and was covered in feces. The organization said, “She is literally a rack of bones weighing just 15.2 pounds. After 3.5 hours of warm blankets, IV fluids, IV meds prescribed by Dr. Lyon, vitamin injections, karo syrup/AD food slurries, gentle blow drying, vigorous petting, (and Ruth’s singing lol), our girl was stretching her legs and trying to lift her head.”
The husky pup, dubbed Aimee, is fighting to survive. After being given fluids and care, her heart rate climbed to 66 bpm and her temperature rose to 100 degrees. But she is not out of the woods.
The shelter staff is hopeful that someone will come forward with information:
Erie Police and our Cruelty Team will be pursuing this case and working to get justice for Aimee…we named her after the EDP Dispatcher who took the original call about this special soul. Everyone there and here was affected by this poor girl and are pulling for her – as we know you, our #ANNAFAMILY are as well!

Praying that Aimee survives and goes on to get a wonderful person or family and lives the proper life all dogs should have, loved and protected always. Whoever left her in that condition: A special slot in hell is waiting for you and you alone. You’ll find out firsthand exactly what that dear puppy suffered.
