New Rochelle, New York – Surveillance cameras caught the moment two men abandoned a caged dog outside the Humane Society of Westchester in the early morning hours Wednesday. The young dog was not discovered for an agonizing five hours during which time she endured the bitter cold.
On January 14, the shelter posted the heartbreaking surveillance video in which the pup can be heard crying. The organization requested help identifying the people who left her in the cold:
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION about these two individuals who left their dog at our door at 3:30am this morning.
This is a difficult video to watch, but please watch the whole way through. This poor girl was left for 5 hours in the cold and dark. This is not ok. This is never ok.

The dog is safe and warm and being held at the shelter facility for the mandatory “stray hold.” After that time, she will be made available for adoption.
