Daniel, Wyoming – Animal welfare advocates have hope that there might be justice for a young wolf who was run down with a snowmobile, injured, and then paraded around a Wyoming bar by Cody Roberts before being killed in February 2024. This month, a grand jury indicted Roberts for one charge of felony cruelty to animals for the cruel incident that sparked outrage across the nation.
Initially, Roberts faced a simple misdemeanor violation of the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission regulations, which carried a paltry $250 fine.
But with the indictment, Roberts could spend up to two years in prison or a $5,000 fine if he is convicted.
Nearly 25,000 people signed Animal Victory’s petition demanding that Roberts be held accountable. Animal Victory continues to follow this case and is fighting for the maximum sentence. You can add your name to the petition at this link.
