Puyallup, WA – On July 7, a cat living inside a squalid vehicle was saved by a Puyallup Police officer. The cat was discovered by the officer who had located a warrant subject along River Road, near the Planet Fitness business.
In a release, the department said:
During his investigation he spotted a cat who was panting in distress. The cat barely responded to any touch, it had no access to food or water and the litter box in the backseat was saturated with urine and feces. The cat’s coat was clumped and contained feces on its leg.
The officer, a cat lover, knew the cat urgently needed help. The agency said:
The Officer, being a cat lover, knew the cats lack of routine coat maintenance, shallow breathing and lack of response meant the feline was in need of emergency medical attention. Another Puyallup Officer purchased water, food, a small bowl, and other supplies for the cat with his own money.
The cat immediately drank the cool water she was offered and ate the wet food provided by the officers. She was transported to an area veterinary hospital for care during the department’s investigation.
Great job officers!!
