Reno, NV – Firefighters with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District recently responded to an unusual call from a service technician. According to the agency’s social media account, a puppy ran under his parked van and climbed up into the undercarriage.
The German shepherd puppy was stuck and required great care because the dog had attempted to crawl up onto the rear axle getting himself into a position where careful extrication would be needed as movement of the suspension components could crush him.

The Engine 44 crew worked in cooperation with Washoe County regional animal services and was able to free the stuck pup who was not injured. The puppy will be on a stray hold and hopefully his owner will come forward to take him home.
