Norton, Kansas – A mother bobcat and her kitten are alive today thanks to the efforts of two compassionate linemen in Kansas. As reported by KAKE News, the pair were frozen to a power pole in Kansas as an ice storm impacted the area.
Dominic Urban and Eric Hartwell were called out to save the bobcats who were unable to free themselves from the frigid pole. Urban explained:
“I couldn’t knock them off. She (the mother) was froze down to the top of the pole so I had to make a snare out of a piece of pipe and some rope hold her down while I beat the ice loose that lowered her down to the ground. I had to do the same with the kitten.”
It took two hours of careful work to free the cats from the pole, but the linemen were successful, and both were saved from an untimely death.
