San Francisco, CA – The San Francisco Police Department’s Marine Unit assisted in an unusual delivery Sunday morning. According to the authorities, the Marine Unit helped a German shepherd deliver seven puppies aboard the Kitty Kat, a San Francisco Whale Tours Boat.
The mother dog, Sam, belongs to the boat’s captain, Joe Nazar. The father of the pups, Bear, also belongs to Nazar. Bear’s duties as a deckhand are chronicled on his Instagram page.
As reported by KTVU News, most of the puppies are already spoken for, and Nazar is proud of Sam’s natural instincts as a mother.
