Mooresville, NC – A 25-year-old man is behind bars and facing a felony animal cruelty charge after restraining a cat and punching the feline in the head, causing the cat’s death.
On Sept. 4, Mooresville Police officers responded to an early morning call for a welfare check. Officers found the caller’s cat deceased and reviewed video footage showing Grayson Alexander Gregg restraining the cat and repeatedly punching it in the head.
Gregg was arrested and booked into the Iredell County Detention Center on a $5000 secured bond; he is due in court on Sept. 25.
