Yuba City, CA – Police have launched an investigation into the deaths of two calves and a horse in Sutter County, CA. As reported by CBS 13 News, all of the animals appear to have been killed with bolts from a crossbow.
The first report was made on May 24 – police were called out to investigate the illegal killing of a calf in Yuba City. Police discovered not one dead calf, but two; both were killed with bolts from a crossbow.
The next report involved a horse found deceased on July 25 on South Butte Road in Sutter. Like the calves, the horse appeared to have been killed after being shot in the head with a crossbow bolt.
